There are things that go bump in the night, and then there are kids who
wake up with bumps from the night. Toby, a devious and disturbed little
boy, only seems to love his teddy bear, Harry, even though Harry is
worse for wear because of it.
Toby is the type of child who is
hard for even his mother to love, but does he really deserve what
happens to him? Guess you'll have to read to find out!
About the Author: Joan H. Young
Joan H. Young
has been writing stories about the outdoors since the age of seven, when
"The Adventures of Skippy the Field Mouse" made its debut. The
work survives, but is best left in the box with pressed leaves and
crayon drawings of
squirrels.
"The Family Christmas," a seasonal poem, made it as far as the local
newspaper when she was 12, proving that the serious child was already
harboring an evil sense of humor. Poetry has continued to be an outlet
for her thoughts and
feelings.
Most of Young’s non-fiction writing focuses on a love for nature, or her
Christian faith. In 2005, North Country Cache was published, the first
book by a hiker of the North Country National Scenic Trail. In 2010, she
completed hiking the 4400-mile trail, thus far being the only woman to
do so, and the tenth person overall. The sequel, North Country Quest, is
in progress. Recently, she has begun writing more fiction, including
short stories, and a mystery novel.
Young lives in Michigan, and can usually be found hiking some trail. For more information about this author,
